V is for Voldemort (Quote of the Week) #AtoZChallenge

For the A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of antagonists.

On my normal blogging days, Monday – parenting and Thursday – writing/publishing, I will tie that day’s topic to antagonists but on the other days (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday), I will write about antagonists from movies, TVs or books. On Wednesdays, my Quote of the Week will be from an antagonist that matches the letter of the day. Enjoy.

“I’m going to kill you, Harry Potter. I’m going to destroy you.
After tonight, no one will ever again question my power. After tonight if they speak of you, they’ll only speak of how you begged for death. And how I being a merciful Lord… obliged.” ~ Lord Voldemort (the power hungry antagonist from the Harry Potter books/movies. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – 2005)

Quote of the Week – April 1 #AtoZChallenge

AWelcome to the first day of the A to Z Challenge, I am sticking with my normal topics for posting but keeping up with the letter of the day. Every Wednesday, I post a quote of the week. Today is A which is for Abraham Lincoln.

Since on the first Wednesday of the month I also post a recipe don’t miss out on Swedish Apple Pie.

In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years. ~ Abraham Lincoln

Quote of the Week – Oct. 31

Today, on Halloween, the San Antonio Spurs play their first game of the 2012-2013 basketball season. And as a Spurs fan, I just had to post this quote. It is posted throughout the Spurs training facility and has been translated into the different native languages of players throughout the years. This mantra has helped produce the winning culture Spurs fans have come to expect. Here is to another great season! Go Spurs Go!

“When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.” Jacob Riis
