M is for Mushu #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of dragons as characters. Whether they appear in film, TV, cartoons or literature, these dragons may be the star of the show or just a supporting character.

M is for Mushu, the pint-sized, fast-talking, wise-cracking red dragon (voiced by Eddie Murphy) from the 1989 animated Disney film, Mulan.

Mushu is an Eastern style dragon – just miniaturized. He is the size of a lizard but with plenty of attitude. He is comical, overconfident, and impulsive. Mushu can breathe fire though with him being so small, that is less than impressive. He is better at starting a campfire or lighting the fuse of a firework than using his flames in a battle.

The Great Ancestor does not consider Mushu a real dragon – or a protector of the Fa Family. Mushu wants to prove that he should be one of the family guardians again (after being demoted to a gong-ringer having failed to protect another Fa ancestor.) He is eager to please and very loyal to Mulan and her family.

If you missed previous entries:

A is for Aura

B is for Blazey

C is for Canth

D is for Draco

E is for Elliott

F is for Fafnir

G is for Gwythaints

H is for Haku

I is for the Ice Dragon

J is for Jabberwocky

I missed K & L but will make them up this weekend.
