For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of dragons as characters. Whether they appear in film, TV, cartoons or literature, these dragons may be the star of the show or just a supporting character.
G is for Gwythaints, the wyvern-like creatures from Disney’s 1985 animated film The Black Cauldron. This film is based on Lloyd Alexander ‘s fantasy series The Chronicles of Prydain. In the books, these creatures are huge birds of prey but somehow, they became reptilian dragons in this animated classic.
The Gwythaints do the bidding of the Horned King and continually track and attack the main character, Taran. They are based on wyverns and have sharp talons, large wings, horns, and dark grey scales. These creatures are savage and intelligent.
If you missed previous entries:
A is for Aura
B is for Blazey
C is for Canth
D is for Draco
E is for Elliott
F is for Fafnir
Ooh not a friendly one.
