S is for Salem #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of cats as characters. Whether they appear in film, TV, cartoons or literature, these felines may be the star of the show or just a supporting character.

If you are here looking for my typical Thursday post of a writing or publishing topic, I will go back to my regular schedule in May. Until then, enjoy the A to Z Challenge…

S is for Salem, the cat from the TV show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Salem Saberhagen is also a character in the Archie Comics comic book of the same name. Salem was formerly a witch but was sentenced to 100 years as a cat for trying to take over the world.

Salem is witty and sarcastic. He is known for coming up with one-liners or puns to fit any situation. Salem is also very ambitious – besides taking over the world, he desires wealth and celebrity status. And of course, he wants to be a human again and have his magical powers. Though Salem does talk, he also does some very cat-like things such as playing with yarn.

In case you missed out…

A is for the Aristocats

B is for Binx

C is for Cheshire Cat

D is for DC

E is for Elsa

F is for Felix

G is for Garfield

H is for Heathcliff

I is for Isis

J is for Jake

K is for Keanu

L is for Lucifer

M is for Mittens

N is for Nala

O is for Oliver

P is for Puss in Boots

Q is for Quietus

R is for Rum Tug Tugger

Oh what a great theme! I also loved Salem in Sabrina.

  2. Love this theme! Salem was always such a fun character, so sassy and such a good contrast to Sabrina.
