R is for Rum Tug Tugger #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of cats as characters. Whether they appear in film, TV, cartoons or literature, these felines may be the star of the show or just a supporting character.

If you are here looking for my typical Quote of the Week, I will go back to my regular schedule in May. Until then, enjoy the A to Z Challenge…

R is for Rum Tug Tugger, one of the felines from the 1939 poetry book, Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. As with any cat, the Rum Tum Tugger is a notorious difficult cat, but one who loves to be the center of attention. He always does the opposite of what is expected of him.

If you set him on a mouse then he only wants a rat,

If you set him on a rat, then he’d rather chase a mouse.

In the musical, Cats, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rum Tum Tugger is like the rock star of cats, and he flirts outrageously with the girl cats.

In case you missed out…

B is for Binx

C is for Cheshire Cat

H is for Heathcliff

I is for Isis
