Q is for Quietus #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of cats as characters. Whether they appear in film, TV, cartoons or literature, these felines may be the star of the show or just a supporting character.

Enjoy the A to Z Challenge…

Q is for Quietus. Now, Quietus is not a cat but the second book in my The Elemental trilogy which is where we learn a lot more about the telepathic cats introduced at the end of Summoned (or for that matter a few of them were actually introduced in my short story The Search). In my fantasy series, there is a group of cats that were given the magical ability to communicate telepathically. These smart cats are known as STACs. Yes, that is just cats spelled backwards. (A bonus fact is that all of the STACs have names starting with S, T, A or C.) It was these cat characters that inspired this theme.

Now while my characters do some cat-like things – wiggling their butts as they hunt or rubbing their head against someone’s hand to be petted, they also plot, console, counsel, and pretty much act like any other non-animal character. Tosh, the main character from The Search and the STAC of the main character in The Elemental trilogy, is wise, patient, and loyal. He is key in guiding the main character on her journey to becoming a hero.

Great that you have a trilogy of books, I will check them out once this A-Z madness is over!

    STACS !!!

    That made me giggle. 😋

We used to have cats, and they gave up on telepathy early in their ownership of us. Instead, it was “let’s walk all over mom and dad (at 5am) until they get up and feed us!” *laugh*
