P is for Puss in Boots #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of cats as characters. Whether they appear in film, TV, cartoons or literature, these felines may be the star of the show or just a supporting character.

If you are here looking for my typical Monday post on a parenting topic, I will go back to my regular schedule in May. Until then, enjoy the A to Z Challenge…

P is for Puss in Boots, the cat from the Shrek movie series and as the title character in his own movie in 2011. He was inspired not just by cats but by Indiana Jones and Zorro. He is suave, charming, and so cute. When we first meet him in Shrek II, Puss in Boots is a mercenary hired to capture Shrek. But once he befriends Shrek and Donkey, he becomes a fiercely loyal friend.

He is a smooth talker as well as kind-hearted, charming, and heroic. He is also very much a “ladies’ cat.” And just look at those eyes in the video below.
