T is for Temperamental #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of character flaws – something all characters need.

T is for Temperamental. Ah, the moody artist whose unpredictable changes in mood make them rememberable. Of course, it isn’t just artists that are temperamental, but it is the first thing to come to mind when I hear the word.

A temperamental character makes the others around them wary. They often cater to the temperamental character rather than “rock the boat.” The erratic and explosive nature of someone with this flaw makes relationships difficult. Friends and family never know what might set him (or her) off or spend their time placating them. And others may just avoid this person all together.

Looking for an example? The book/movie character of Sherlock Homes is a great example. He is often moody with his emotions changing rapidly from brooding to manic in his thirst for knowledge. You never know what his mood or reaction will be.
