For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I have chosen the theme of character flaws – something all characters need. If you are here looking for my Recipe of the Month or the Quote of the Week, those features will resume in May. Until then, enjoy the A to Z Challenge.
C is for Callous. A callous person is insensitive and has a cruel disregard for others. These people show a lack of remorse. Maybe the person has a history of abuse or had a traumatic event that hardens their heart.
Now a callous person might be able to handle devastating situations or make decisions that others may not be able to make due to emotional attachments, but it is truly hard to turn being callous into a positive trait or at least make the person likeable.
If this is a trait of one of your characters, any change in their behavior would be slow. Whatever caused this behavior would need to be addressed before that change could occur.
