Today’s Featured Author: Ellen March

Please welcome author Ellen March to Into Another World. Today we are talking about her latest release, Promises, as well as several new releases coming out in June and July.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I reside in the U.K. in the South Wales valleys. I’m an avid reader, and have written for years. But only recently began sending out submissions and prayed, a lot. I was fortunate to have The Doms of Drakos trilogy accepted by Ravenous Romance.

This was followed by Promises with Fanny Press. The next release by this publisher is His Girl Friday on 1st July available for pre-order now. Fanny Press are releasing several more of my novels this year under Ellen March.

My erotic paranormal books have my alter pseudonym of H D March, and the Wolfsong trilogy is about to be published by Passion in Print, with Wolfsong Lullaby out in June.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I’ve always considered myself a writer, it was just getting to the author bit that was the problem. LOL. Having publishers to say yes, I can print that. It’s the best feeling in the world.

Have you started your next project? If so, can you share a little bit about your next book?

The next project I’ve started under H D March is Song of the Dragon. It’s an erotic paranormal about dragon shifters, vampires and lycans. Oh and one crazy fairy Elspeth, who is so not nice, along with uncouth angel Troy, with permanently singed wings. My MC Raven with her chocolate digestive fetish, soon discovers one ground breaking change to her life.

What is the best thing about being a writer? The worst?

Oh God, I could go on and on about the best thing of being a writer. I adore creating characters I care about, laugh with and weep over. There’s nothing better than building a world, to forget the one you live in, to absorb every thought and emotion melting it into a vivid story.

The worse? There isn’t one, except maybe the rejections. But after the initial self-pitying scream (at least with me) they often serve to make you stronger, to make you look at your work and think. Okay? I’ll change that, it will be better.

What fuels you as an author to continue to write?

Nothing, I’m driven, as soon as the final draft of a new novel is complete, I’m already moving on to the next.

How do you conceive your plot ideas?

I have an inkling, play with the theme, and I go off on different tangents. I jot down the ideas, and ultimately discover that they totally change when it comes to the finished project.

Do you outline your books or just start writing?

I have a vague outline of the plot, but this often changes because I allow my characters to determine the way. The story is still mine, but they switch and move how I eventually reach the end.

Please tell us about your current release.

My current release is Promises by Fanny Press.

What inspired you to write this book?

I liked the idea of an innocent woman waking up and making love to a hot stud. How she’d react. Would she put her inhibitions one side? Give in to her lusty thoughts?

How did you come up with the title?

At every turn Solomon made a promise, of what he’d do, and swears he’d never hurt her. And all the while they meant nothing. But then, neither did hers. Yet she chooses to blame him unwilling to look at her own part in the web of deceit he unintentionally creates.

Can you tell us a little about the black moment in your book?

The black moment has to be when his jealous ex descends and lies to Alex, sucking her in, and Alex is mortified, that she’s been used. That all Sol ever did was give empty promises. Sharing her body, but not his love.

If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why?

I do have a soft spot for Libby my MC in Forty Something, again due out soon with Fanny Press. She is one nutty lady, doesn’t care about anything, and is the housekeeper from hell. She plays havoc with her sexy boss who has OCD. Yet her zany personality hauls him in, and when he introduces Total Power Control into her contract. Well Libby won’t turn down that challenge.

Book Blurb

promisesShy and self-doubting, Alexandra doesn’t ask much of life. She exists quietly in a small seaside village in Wales, working in the local library and keeping company solely with ‘Roger,’ her vibrator. When Roger breaks down, she must go to the city to seek out his replacement.

Alex’s visit goes spectacularly awry when she stumbles into the wrong hotel room, where she enjoys a blissful interlude with the room’s rightful occupant, Solomon, who she initially mistakes for a vivid dream. Sol’s skills quickly render Roger obsolete, but Alex isn’t about to let a man—not even one as gorgeous as Sol—get under her skin. Relationships are not for the likes of her.

Sol, a notorious playboy and multi-millionaire hotelier, isn’t about to let her go so easily—not until he’s had his fill of her. Posing as a simple carpenter, he rents the house next to Alex in Brindley Bay. His plan is to conquer her quickly and return to his real life in a week or so. But Alex is nothing like his other women. For a start, she’s not interested in money. More than that, serious money makes her extremely uncomfortable. And she values honesty above all else. Before he knows it, Sol has promised to love her forever—a promise he fully intends to keep.

But what will Alex do when she inevitably uncovers the elaborate skein of lies he has spun, simply to bed her?

About the Author

Ellen March and her husband live on top of a mountain in Wales, which is ideal in the summer but not so much in the winter months or when it rains. She has three grown children, one suicidal cat—it really does have nine lives—and five Alaskan Malamutes. One of her hobbies is showing and working them.

Ellen’s first love, however, is reading and writing. Since childhood, she has devoured every romance and fantasy she can get her hands on and enjoys acting out her own fantasies in print. Her body of work includes erotic romance, psychological thrillers and supernatural fantasies. She has published three novels in the Doms of Drakos series—Escorting Sydney, One Night in Heaven, and Shadow Play (Ravenous Romance). Fanny Press will be releasing several more of her erotic romances in 2014. Next up: His Girl Friday.

Find out more about Ellen on her website. And don’t forget to follow her on Twitter and Facebook.
